Who We Are
West Hancock Studio was born out of a need to provide hassle-free and transparent interior design services that truly help our clients achieve their ideal home. Founded by Kristen Hancock and Emma West, the Studio’s goal is to make quality home design and consultation as streamlined as possible.
Kristen and Emma have a shared passion for interior design and have the foundational knowledge of design that enables them to achieve any design aesthetic. They both have years of experience working within the high-end design-build industry and have an intimate knowledge of residential construction. Kristen and Emma worked together after they both moved back to Pittsburgh and Kristen was hiring a designer for her own successful design firm. The pair hit it off with their shared experience of working with top firms in New York City (& the surrounding area) along with their drive to always do right by their clients. They view interior design as a collaborative process and that a home should be both functional and beautiful. WH Studio was formed when Kristen and Emma were chatting (After Emma moved back to the east coast) and they both acknowledged a market need for more accessible design expertise.

Emma West
FOUNDER
I am the granddaughter of an architect and a daughter of a residential builder and an interior designer. The home design and construction industry run through my veins. Over the years, I have worked with award winning designers as well as top residential builders. This experience has given me the opportunity to hone my talents as a designer and as your partner in the home renovation process. I am a firm believer that in order to truly achieve a functional and beautiful home, you must first understand the basics of how a home is built. There is a process that is followed and no detail too small when considering the story your home will tell. That story should reflect you, your family and the life you lead. When I am not spending time designing, I can be found spending time with my husband (Matt), two boys (Ben & Colin) and our dog, Rue. I am a lover of live music and an avid runner.

Kristen Hancock
FOUNDER
Kristen Hancock is the owner and president of LMNTL DSGN, a Pittsburgh based high-end residential interior design, project management and owners representation firm. Kristen has been in the industry for over 20 years with deep experience in the luxury residential market. She got her start in New York City where she earned the title of Director of Operations for one of Manhattan’s premier luxury renovation companies, The Renovated Home. She moved to Pittsburgh in 2012 and now designs and project manages some of Pittsburgh’s most prestigious homes.
